It was famously known as Albinism day. During the Celebration, the Guest of Honor Lt. Col. The fund aimed at helping the poor people around Kabanga Referral Hospital to secure subsidized health services from the Kabanga Referral Hospital. The Diocesan Health Day is meant to be celebrated every year.
The diocesan Health Department which was at that time under the leadership of Sr. Philipina Rubavu was established on 1st August 1998 as an independent Department within the Diocesan Organogram. Prior to that time, it was a section under Caritas Kigoma Department since 1995.
