On 15. 11. 2012, The Kasumo Dispensary Community Staff, neighbors and invited guests participated and witnessed the official opening of the newly constructed maternity ward expected to serve the expectant mothers from Kasumo village and her neighborhood. The inaugural ceremony was graced to have Mr. Charles Gishuri, the then first District Commissioner of Buhigwe new District as the Chief Guest. The event also marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Kasumo dispensary since 1962 by Sr. Margreth Garnet and Fr. Adrian Grout (PP), following the permission from Bishop Holmes Siddle. The Maternity ward building was financed by the donor friends of FALMI Sisters who were rendering their apostolate at Kasumo till that time. The villagers jubilated and were very grateful to the Diocesan Administration as well as the FALMI Sisters who facilitated and financed the achievement of the project respectively.
